Disability Initiative Workgroup

The Community Partnership for Families of San Joaquin (CPFSJ) partners with United Way and Worknet in conducting outreach to the disability community and providing tax return preparation services.

CPFSJ held events in the community at parks, community resource centers, libraries, health centers and other partner agencies. CPFSJ staff conducted presentations at DRAIL (Disability Resource Agency for Independent Living) Visionary Homebuilder (low income housing and providing homes to families with disabilities) and Worknet (job training and employment resources for families). These events and services were promoted in the local newspaper and on radio.

CPFSJ this year along with its partner Worknet utilized its mobile bus to provide VITA services at local parks and community resource centers. VITA tax returns were prepared on the bus and transmitted via satellite. At this and other CPFSJ events, financial literacy material and income support information were also distributed.
