Disability Initiative Workgroup

Money is hard to come by and even harder to keep. At the Louisville Asset Building Coalition (LABC) we believe in growing better futures. We believe everyone should have access to opportunities to be financially successful and economically stable.

The Louisville Asset Building Coalition (LABC) oversees the Disability Initiative in Louisville, Kentucky. The Center of Accessible Living (CAL), United Way and the Mayors Office are members of the Advisory Board. CAL hosts a VITA site; utilizing their employees as support and volunteer tax preparers for the disability clients. United Ways continued support and involvement has been instrumental in developing and distributing marketing materials, conducting media and non-media outreach events, recruiting volunteers and routing taxpayers to their "211" line for referral to one of the free tax preparation sites. The Mayors Office continued support and involvement has been instrumental in developing and distributing marketing materials, conducting media and non-media outreach events and recruiting volunteers .
