Disability Initiative Workgroup

The Mississippi Partners for Informed Choice (M-PIC) is a project of the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services (MDRS). This organization provides work incentives and assistance services to individuals receiving Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and/or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) disability benefits. MDRS serves as a major partner under the Disability Initiative. MDRS counselors educate individuals with disability on available tax credits and free tax help. Mississippi Coalition for Citizens with Disabilities (MSCCD) advocate for Mississippians with disabilities. MSCCD joined the Jackson Asset Building Coalition.

United Way of the Capital City is the co-chairperson for the Jackson Asset Building Coalition. Partners will offer free tax assistance for local residents. Individuals with disabilities will be encouraged to take advantage of these services.
